The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (abpd) values a fair and valid testing process for Board certification and renewal of certification in Pediatric Dentistry. Abpd's certification process aims to validate The candidate's in-depth knowledge and proficiency in The specialty of Pediatric Dentistry by successfully completing a two-part certification process. The qualifying examination (qe) is one section of The two-part certification process and is designed to generate evidence toward validation of The individual's advanced training in Pediatric Dentistry. The second section is The oral clinical examination (oce). The purpose of this exam is to enable The individual to demonstrate proficiency in diagnosis, treatment planning, and clinical care. Renewal of certification process (roc-p) is a continuous, rolling process documenting achievement in four critical areas of Pediatric Dentistry. Completion of The four areas is required of time-limited diplomates and strongly recommended for unlimited diplomates. The renewal of certification process is designed to meet rapidly changing science and technology head on, assisting diplomates to provide The highest quality healthcare to patients.all requirements are due annually by november 30th.-professional standing - annual renewal and credentials-lifelong learning, continuing scholarship and improvement - 15 ce hours required annually between january 1st - november 30th.-cognitive expertise measured by examination - roc exam due every ten years-satisfactory performance in practice/continuous quality improvement - 2 cqi's required annually
