Program areas at EVCH

The residential program focuses on providing ongoing evaluation, planning, 24-hour supervision, coordination, and integration of health or rehabilitative services to help 18 individuals with intellectual disabilities function as his/her greatest ability. Because the program is meant to be long term, achievements are measured by retention of residents as they continue to maintain their functional status. The average length of admission for residential program recipients is 18 years, with the shortest admission being 7 months and the longest admission being 54 years. The residents continued to stay healthy. Cases of covid-19 signs/symptoms were mild or asymptomatic. Out of the possible 6570 service units, we only lost 19 units. This is a large decrease in lost units when comparing it to 2021's 32 lost units. Of those 19 lost units, 19 units were due to resident vacancy.
The respite program addresses the long-term, repetitive stress felt by caregivers of developmentally disabled people who reside in the family home. We provide support to families or primary caregivers of people with developmental disabilities through temporary, short-term care of the dependent person. The program currently has 61 qualifying families receiving up to 30 hours of services per month, with annual goal of 9,500 service hours.fortunately, the respite program did not have to shut down for 2022; therefore, it was possible for the program to service more families with limited hours. Total service hours that were provided were 9,408.50 hours. On average, it serviced 45 families per month. By the end of december, there were 37 families on the waiting list waiting to be accepted by the program and receive respite services.
