Medical services. El Proyecto Del Barrio, Inc. is a federally qualified health care center and currently operates and provides primary health care in six (6) fully licensed facilities in arleta, winnetka, northridge, azusa, panorama city and baldwin park. Dental clinics are located in arleta and winnetka. We conduct more than 175,000 office visits with patients each year. Our health care services include: family practice ob/gyn pediatrics dental services mammography screening laboratory family planning counseling case management comprehensive perinatal services program (cpsp) health education immunizations pregnancy testing, prenatal care, postnatal care well child exams eligibility assistance infectious disease referral services transportation coverage for emergencies during and after hours sliding fee scale services offered in english and spanish
Child care services. El Proyecto child development centers are each licensed to serve 150 preschool children aged 3 through 4 years. Child development centers and located in panorama city and east los angeles. The child development program is currently funded by the California department of education. El Proyecto child development's philosophy is to nurture and inspire children's individual growth and creativity. We recognize that every child is unique with his/her own individual time frame for growth and development. We take into account each child's level of development, age, uniqueness, culture and language. Child's work is play. Our high-quality child development services are no-cost. The creative curriculum promotes learning and cognitive development through play and activities that promote language, literacy, critical thinking, and sensory and gross motor development. Learning is further supported through: bilingual (english/spanish) instruction nutritious snacks staff credentialed by the California department of education
Youth services. El Proyecto youthsource centers provide comprehensive employment and training services for youth ages 16-24 throughout the san fernando valley. Our primary focus is out-of-school youth; drop-out youth; in-school youth and jobless youth. Our services ensure that young people that have barriers to employment or education get the skills and education that is required to enter the workforce based on the labor market economy, including the demand sector and emerging industries. El Proyecto Del Barrio youthsource centers are major players servicing the low income, underserved youth and unemployed youth communities with a significant result-oriented outcome such as education and jobs for the growing young communities for the whole san fernando valley. The youthsource centers are four-star recognized youth programs, the only ones out of the sixteen youthsource centers that are certified malcom baldrige award and (cape) California award for performance excellence prospector award recipient. Youthsource centers are located in sun valley, san fernando, canoga park and san bernardino. During the year 1,061 participant entolled in job training or education programsprogram services: assist youth to improve educational achievement assist youth to enter and succeed in employment referral to alternative secondary school dropout recovery services hiset (high school equivalency test) ged preparation class onsite bridge programs for remedial education access to computers for all youth computer class job search assistance/ job placement job readiness workshop occupational skills training/ in a demand industry/ career path labor market information tutoring and study skills assistance supportive services (for enrolled youth only) referral and follow-up services
Drug abuse. El Proyecto's outpatient behavioral health program provides counseling and referrals to men and women with substance abuse and mental health problems, including specialized services for women who are pregnant, postpartum or parenting. The program is staffed by bilingual and drug-certified counselors. It assists men and women in areas including domestic violence/sexual abuse, self-esteem, peer support, life skills, health education, drug education, 12 step/relapse, and parenting who receive treatment rather than incarceration. This program is a certified state of California medical drug program. We served 425 patients with 17,146 visits during the year. Job training. El Proyecto worksource sun valley (epws) "provides a one-stop job preparation, skills development-training, job placement, job transition and job retention services to 18 and older residents. Staffing services are provided in collaboration with business-employers to assist businesses that are experiencing challenges in finding qualified candidates. Epws will identify local residents that are job ready, and match the skill sets required in occupational growth sectors. During the year 581 clients were enrolled in job training and job placement services. Hiv/aids - El Proyecto hiv/aids program provides medical treatment, preventive care, health education, and other supportive services to hiv patients and high-risk populations. During the year 284 patients and 2,046 test were provided to high-risk individuals.
