Lowlander Center aims to help create solutions for living with an ever-changing coastline and land loss. The center collaborates with coastal communities in southeast Louisiana that are at risk due to industrialization, climate change, and oil-related work. Additionally, the center works closely with the Unitarian Universalist Social Committee which focuses on climate change and innovation fellowship. They practice a matrix for climate forced migration while combining the best principles of human and environmental justice in southern Louisiana. Lowlander Center is located in Many, LA.

Environmental restoration through community driven design and vision for a sustainable liveable coast including canals, housing, food soverignty- coastal communities collaboration and first people's conservation council with a dynamic relationship with a nsf cope 5 year program through haskell indian nations university.
Capacity development within and between at-risk delta communities to find and enhance old and new ways of living with water and risks through innovation and restoration, and rematriation of land and place. Several national media pieces including nova, weather channel and pbs.
Disaster justice network- doing training, plannning, and response to the multiple layers of disasters over the past several years while preparing for future hazard events. Growing knowledge and expertise through students, community members and organizations both locally and nationally. Engaging this knowing in national and international dialogues including the united nations.
To help create solutions to living with an ever-changing coastline and land loss while visioning a future that builds capacity and resilience for place and people.
