Silverlining

The scri (safe climate research initiative) provides research funding for scientific research programs at centers of excellence in climate and atmospheric research and related areas of technology. The program includes coordination across scri and outside research efforts, convening, publications support and the development and maintenance of a research roadmap.

Policy research: Silverlining undertakes and supports research in both u.s. and international climate and environmental policy. Activities include publication, communication, convening and education.

Communications: Silverlining's communication efforts include content development, media engagement, web and social media, virtual and live events and programs and outreach programs for different stakeholders.

Global youth initiative: Silverlining supports convening, education, speaking engagements, training and other efforts with young climate professionals and youth leaders from around the world.

Gsouth program: while often vulnerable to climate change, due to highly constrained resources, developing countries have a limited ability to project and analyze climate impacts for their regions. This constrains their ability to adapt to climate change, reduce disaster risk, leverage climate finance mechanisms and equitably, meaningfully participate in international decision-making processes. Internationally, Silverlining launched and supports a global youth initiative, recruiting talented u.n. Climate leaders from 5 continents who partnered with u.n. Youth organization youngo in a series of summits leading to the development of the youth call to action for research, presented at cop26. These young leaders launched a series of local events catalyzing dialogue and activity in ghana, malawi, bangladesh, nepal and honduras. The climate research for all (cra) fund is a proposed multilateral fund and grant facility for physical sciences research on climate impacts that is designed to improve the information available to developing countries to adapt and respond to climate change, to improve the value and effectiveness of their climate programs and investments, and to reduce major disparities in information for climate decision-making.
