Program areas at Social Justice Partners Los Angeles
Racial equity in homelessness initiative(rei): the racial equity in homelessness initiative takes a three-pronged approach to shifting the culture and workforce of the homeless response system, through recruitment of a diverse talent pool, highlighting and supporting leaders who center a racial Justice lens, and retaining top talent by creating an inclusive and equitable culture. We host a racial equity fellowship for mid-level leaders in the sector ready to step into executive level positions, facilitate training and supports for c-suite leaders to integrate an equity lens into their organization's culture and work, and provide stipends and wellbeing supports to frontline workers.
Community building & engagement (cb&e): sjp engages our Partners and the broader community to develop their knowledge and skills in supporting the work of Social Justice and anti-racism in Los Angeles and beyond. We host discussions and trainings where people learn from each other, as well as from nonprofit and community leaders. Through sjp's activities and community events, we also actively cultivate connections and relationships with cross-sector organizations in order to connect and collaborate to support community-level change and amplify our impact.
System change accelerator (acelerator): spj supports a cohort of early-stage, justice-centered systems change initiatives with a combination of seed funding, peer learning and coaching. The initiatives are led by leaders with lived expertise of the injustices they're addresing. Sjp provides a range of in-kind assistance based on the leaders' priorities, including strategic planning, communications, liberatory workplaces, leadership and organizational development, finance, and fundraising.
