Program areas at The Guatemalan-Maya Center

The outreach program promotes independence for families through food pantry and distribution, advocacy, classes and financial assistance for food, rent, utilities and clothing.
The early Childwood Education program which includes Florida Volunteer Kindergarden Education and preschool programs established to help improve the wellbeing of children in underserved communities through low cost after school and summer programs designed to strengthen and support their physical, social and emotional needs.
The parent+ child program sends counsellors to homes twice per week over a two year period to help mothers interact with their two and three year old children to increse language and literacy skills , enhance emotional development, and strenghthen the bonds between parents and children.
