Program areas at Harmony Project
The Harmony Project provides children from low-income families with a rigorous music education program, including instruments, weekly instrumental music lessons, orchestra and choir programs, performance opportunities, field trips to classical music concerts, and a range of supporting resources. All services are provided at no cost to students. A vast majority of parents report improvements in their childrens grades, behavior, mood, and health since joining the program. College attendance is encouraged through a partnership with CA community colleges, and a scholarship program for its graduates. Other organizations also assist Harmony Project in its mission by donating space and facilities for music instruction and performance. The rental value of donated space was $242,000 for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2022.
