Program areas at Treasures of JOY

Our accomplishments for 2022 include:o Game Night outreach to the community by playing bingo, Dances, and providing meals for all who attend. Serving an average of 120 persons, our prior year was approximately 65 persons. We have paired with St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church to host our Game Night events; the room we host our events in has a possible capacity of 200. As the COVID restrictions have lifted, we were able to host 2 Game Nights and 1 Dance/prom. o Respite outreach to the community to provide four hours for parents where they drop off the special needs person and siblings so they may enjoy four hours of rest and relaxation without the burden of caregiving. We were unable to provide 1 Respite, though our turnout was very low we only had 6 Treasure families served to us versus The 12 to 14 families we would serve at a Respite event pre-COVID. o Special Olympics We participated in Special Olympics bowling and sponsored approximately 30 athletes. We did not participate in Bocce Ball or Track & Field this year. o JOYful Learning Day Habilitation a day activity and vocational learning program serving approximately 46 adults. The prior year we served approximately 71 adults. The reduction in persons served is related to the restrictions of the COVID Pandemic.
