Search filter sidebar

The search filter sidebar helps you narrow down to organizations in a specific target segment

In this help article...

Cause IQ's search filter sidebar helps you find the filters that are most applicable to your target market and easily update your existing search filters. By default, Cause IQ displays a few of the most commonly used filters by all Cause IQ customers and some of your most frequently used filters.

You can also use the Advanced search to access all 460+ organization filters by subcategories and search for a filter by name or value to find what you're looking for.

Here's a look at the search filter sidebar in Cause IQ's organization search and where to access the Advanced search:

As mentioned above, the Advanced search is where you can find all 460+ search filters, view available values and corresponding match counts for qualitative filters, update your current filters, add advanced search queries (e.g., exclude matches), and more. You can access the Advanced search from the bottom of the search filter sidebar and next to your current filter pills.

Here's a look at the Advanced search pop-up modal, where you can find filters by categories and search for filters by name (and look for certain values):

Using different metrics and methods for filtering

Cause IQ's quantitative filters (e.g., Total revenues), have a "Metric" option that can be changed to a number of different options, like "Value," "Percent of expenses," "Percent of revenues," or "One-year growth." Similarly, Cause IQ's qualitative filters (e.g., Types), have an "Include matches" or "Exclude matches" method option. Include matched is the default behavior.

Here's a look at the different metric options for quantitative filters:

Update and remove existing filters

If you want to remove a filter from your Cause IQ organization search, click the "X" next to the filter pill at the top of the search page. If you want to update a filter, click the filter pill you want to adjust, and Cause opens the filter in the Advanced search, where you can make the appropriate changes.
