Program areas at City Bureau NFP

Continued growth of public education programs aimed at informing residents about civic issues through journalism and media training. 16 emerging journalists participated in intensive training in community reporting practices. 46 works of public interest journalism published in local and national media. Trained 85 residents as documenters to take notes at public meetings. Facilitated 393 documenters assignments which included majority local government meetings. Hosted 36 workshops serving 184 individuals. Consulted with media organizations locally and nationally on participatory journalism practices. Supported partner organizations in launching documenters participatory media programs in minneapolis, atlanta, cleveland, fresno, omaha, dallas and philadelphia.
