Program areas at Jubilee Ministries

The organization's thrift store operation exists for the same purpose as the ministry programs - to serve those affected by incarceration. The stores provide low-cost merchandise for sale to persons in the city and surrounding areas. They also provide financial resources that empower life change for those in prisons and in the aftercare program. The stores are a place for the community to participate in this ministry, by donating material items and shopping. Behind the scenes, in processing material donations and in the pickup and delivery of store items, the aftercare students are employed and gain valuable on-the-job skills. There are store locations in annville, lebanon, manheim, myerstown, palmyra, wernersville, and can also be found online.
The aftercare programs offer a structured environment that provides opportunities for men and women to have their hearts and lives transformed through a relationship with jesus christ. With christ at the center, the organization seeks to address deep needs of those caught in cycles of addiction and incarceration. Aftercare is a phase-based program; completion is not determined by the amount of time spent in the program, but rather the successful progression through each phase. Each phase consists of specific goals in personal growth and community integration. Students participate in group classes, individual counseling, and life skills training.
Chaplains lead worship services, teach bible studies, provide individual counseling, oversee pre-release classes, teach discipleship classes, visit cell blocks, and minister to prison staff. The organization provides full- time and part-time chaplain staff in state and county prisons throughout Pennsylvania. Chaplains serve in these county prisons - bedford, lackawanna, lebanon, luzerne, northumberland, snyder, and in the state correctional institutions at camp hill, frackville, and mahanoy.
