Program areas at Kiss the Ground

Farmlandthe farmland program supports farmers and ranchers in their transition to regenerative agricultureby providing access to soil health training, grant opportunities, educational resources, and a growing community of regenerative producers and land stewards at various stages of regeneration. In 2022 we awarded 100 scholarships for courses for farmers taught by regrarians, soil health academy, savory, diez mil anos, and escuela de regeneracion. Farmers learn how to transition their land to being managed by regenerative practices through these courses. We also awarded $104,000 in farmer grants that help farmers get the support they need to help further their transition while supporting their community. We also conducted 12 follow-up soil tests for farmers in our transition program and are scheduled to go over the results in early 2023. At the end of 2022, this program transitioned to be included in our overall education program.
Mediawe use storytelling to educate, inspire, and connect millions to the regenerative movement through short-films, mini-docs, a podcast, branded collaborations, and other content. This year we produced "grow what you know" (season 2) and we went into production for our first fully animated film "possibilities of regeneration", and started our series "stories of regeneration: yadi wangh". At the end of 2022, this program transitioned to be included within our overall communications program.
Stewardshipour education platform, community, and resource library educate and empowers emerging leaders to become impactful advocates for the regenerative movement. Our courses are geared towards a diverse audience and cover a variety of topics but are united by our strongest belief: anyone, anywhere, can be a powerful advocate. In 2022 we produced 2 live cohorts with a total of 128 students. Overall, we had 675 new students join our courses and we shared highlight stories about them and their testimony on our social media. We created 10 more resources for our "free resources page" on our website. At the end of 2022, this program transitioned to be included in our overall education program.
Policyas people awaken to the possibilities of regeneration, there is new excitement in the soil health andregenerative agriculture movement. In 2022, ktg continued the regenerate america initiative, anunprecedented grassroots campaign to ensure support for regenerative agriculture in the 2023 farm bill and beyond. We convened a large diverse coalition that includes brands, ngos, farming groups, thought leaders, and change makers. Our aim was to educate and influence both the public and policymakers with commonground solutions to rally behind and bring regenerative agriculture to the table in front of policymakers. We created farm tours, where we alongside a farmer council, educated politicians, we supported farmers to speak at agricultural hearings in front of congress, and we created awareness and education about the u.s. farm bill. On a local level, we produced a course for the los angeles parks and recs on soil regeneration in parks.
