Program areas at Project Lyme

Research: Project Lyme invests money into research via grants to our partner, bay area Lyme foundation. The main focus of our research investments are diagnostics and therapeutics, given the unreliability of current Lyme testing as well as the lack of effective treatment for chronic cases. The $400k in grant expenditures went directly to this research. The additional expenditures are broken up between staff and contractor salary that help to execute all other general programming.
Education & awareness: Project Lyme spends money on education and awareness through developing and distributing informational content for printed brochures, social media, newsletters, website, television, and streaming services. Total expenditures include staff salary, contractor payments, membership dues, and advertising fees that are associated with the creation and distribution of content mentioned above. Grant expenditures included sponsoring of a documentary showing in nyc and of a national scientific conference.
