Queens Theatre is the premier performing arts venue in Queens. Queens Theatre’s mission is to provide quality and diverse performing arts activities that are economically and geographically accessible to the 2.2 million residents of Queens, the most ethnically diverse county in the nation, and the surrounding metropolitan region. To foster greater cultural awareness and appreciation, the Theatre presents and produces programs that reflect this diversity and features international, national and local artists.

Program areas at Queens Theatre in the Park

- Theatre series: fully staged productions of both established works and new plays and musicals. - Theatre for alla major initiative to advance the inclusion of people with disabilities in the performing arts - includes a training program, increased accessibility services, and more. - cultural programs: performances of music, dance Theatre, and film related to culturally specific themes. - dance series: Queens Theatre presents performances by diverse, local, international, and world class contemporary dance companies. - new play development: each year, Queens Theatre stages readings of works in development. the readings are free and open to the public. - special events productions: these programs are special productions made in association with other Theatre groups.
- nyc city artists corps grant program. in 2021, Queens Theatre partnered with the nyc department of cultural affairs to design and execute an artist employment program, offering $3k grants to more than 2800 artists to offer free community engagement activities throughout the five boroughs, reaching approximately 2 million residents and visitors. Queens Theatre partnered with new york foundation for the arts as well as local arts councils and service organizations, and organized multiple showcases throughout the city at various venues, including on site at Queens Theatre. - community engagement: an inclusive and diverse program of on and offsite cultural events, performances and partnerships that are primarily free and serve to engage and build community around Queens Theatre
- education the education program offers performing arts classes on site as well as at local public schools. It also offers exclusive student matinee performances from the Theatre and dance series. Queens Theatre partners with senior centers in Queens to offer performance programs for seniors.- kids programs: Queens Theatre presents and develops productions designed for young audiences
