Program areas at Southern Pines Animal Shelter
Clinic: during 2021 our clinic continued to provide both spay and neuter as well as healthy pet services to the community as well as Shelter pets. The clinic completed 7,097 surgeries, saw 3,539 pets for wellness appointments, and provided 1,456 free vaccines.
Thrift store: the thrift shop continued to see donations from the community, which allowed us to raise more than $100,000 to put towards lifesaving programming in our Shelter and clinic.
Shelter: in 2021 5,658 pets entered the Shelter. Southern Pines continued to build strong foster and adoption programs and had a 97.87 % lifesaving rate for the year. The Shelter also worked to increase its community resource efforts helping to keep people and pets together.
