Description
Tibetan Nuns Project educates and empowers nuns of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition residing in India to improve their quality of life and education. It provides facilities and programs to help establish, strengthen, and support educational institutions that preserve Tibetan religion and culture. Additionally, it raises awareness about concerns of the nuns and Tibetan refugees while training women for leadership roles within the community. The project receives funding for providing food, clothing, medicine, scholarships, job training programs and the like.

Program areas at Tibetan Nuns Project

Improved quality of life and education of Tibetan nuns living in India, increased awareness of their concerns and of Tibetan refugees in general, and trained a generation of women to take leadership roles within their community. Funding has gone to feed, clothe, house, educate, and provide medical care to over 800 nuns in eight different nunneries in the Himalayan region of India.
