Program areas at USGLC
National Program: The Center works to educate and engage opinion leaders, policy makers an public about the importance of U.S. development and diplomacy. In 2022, the Center focused on educating and engaging the Administration, members of Congress and opinion leaders on the importance of development and diplomacy. The Center hosted widely attended educational events in Washington, DC and across the country, hosted the annual tribute celebration, and held dozens of high-level meetings and policy discussions. The Center also continued to expand its outreach into the military community, through the continued growth of its National Security Advisory Council and Veterans for Smart Power initiative. In 2022, the Center launched its Farmers for Prosperity initiative to increase and amplify the conversation on global development and the crucial role America's agricultural leaders can play in advancing U.S. interests around the world.
Public Education: In addition to engaging a broad following of supporters through its website and other social media tools including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, the Center consistently provided user-friendly content. In addition, the Center, through traditional media, placed dozens of opinion-editorials in a variety of state and national media publications, and by gaining earned media through events and other journalist engagements.
Field Program: In 2022, the Center continued its efforts to engage business, faith-based, civic, military, academic, and community leaders in its efforts throughout the country. The Center involved thousands of individuals in educational events, both large and small, to discuss the importance of America's development and diplomatic programs.
