White Cancer Institute at Adventist Health Sonora, over an hours drive from their ranch. We travel an hour and a half to get here, and driving home, Richard explains. The days are really tied up. Coming here, getting it done, and going home.Battling cancer is far from easy, even in the best of physical, emotional, and financial circumstances. For patients like Richard and Lula, who live on a fixed income and travel far from home multiple times a week for care, the financial and logistical challenges can be overwhelming.Thats where the Cancer Patient Support Fund steps in to help. The fund, made possible solely by Adventist Health Sonora donors, provides resources directly to cancer patients to cover expenses that are not covered by health insurance like gas, groceries, utility bills, and medication co-pays so patients can focus on their treatment and healing. That supportive fund and the support structure that the hospital has developed around it is more than helpful, Richard says. We wouldn't have made it It just would've been too costly. This has really helped us. With those gas cards that we received, that allowed us to keep going and not break the routine. We did not miss a single day [of treatment] for either of us.Compassionate, high-quality patient care; life-saving and life-preserving medical and surgical services; essential emergency services-these are the reasons we are in Sonora.Websites for our community benefit information: httpswwwadventisthealthorgaboutus...
