Program areas at AIDS Delaware
Case management: successfully provided medical case management services to nearly 500 clients statewide utilizing case managers located in offices in all three counties. Our case managers keep people living with hiv medically adherent to their drug protocols and connect them to necessary services like housing, substance abuse & mental counseling and insurance premium continuance payments.
Mental health counseling: during 2022 our two mental health clinicians held 438 mental wellness sessions serving those living with or at high risk of hiv. Clients saw a 30% reductions in symptoms after three months and a 60% reduction in symptoms if they stayed in counseling for 6-12 months. Many of the counseling sessions continued to be virtual in 2022 utilizing hipaa compliant platforms.
Hiv-101 education: working through the health teachers at various middle and high schools throughout new castle county the program provided interactive hiv-101 educations to 2,012 students through 65 separate sessions. Each intervention is done with a pre and post-test to measure student comprehension.
