Archives of Falconry collects, preserves, and interprets global falconry history, art, literature, and material culture. General programs - the Archives of american Falconry was founded in 1986 to stem the loss falconers died. Unique in the world, the Archives original intent expanded with the international nature of historic materials being collected. The name subsequently was shortened to the Archives of Falconry in 2003 and it now focuses on the history of this ancient sport worldwide. The Archives mission was reworded in late 2021 continues to follow the same meaning but simpler wording: the mission is to collect, preserve, and interpret global Falconry history, art, literature, and material culture.
