See description on schedule ofood and shelter program:the Bay Area Rescue Mission provides shelter and care for homeless men, women and children in the san francisco Bay Area. The shelter has capacity to provide over 105,000 bed nights of shelter during the course of the year. The food service program serves and distributes meals to the resident homeless, non-resident homeless and near-homeless guests. Over 160,000 meals were served during the year.long-term residential recovery program: this program provides men, women and children with the following services: education, job skills training, life skills training, job placement, family reconciliation, assistance with overcoming financial and legal issues, transitional living, medical assistance, spiritual programs and counseling. These services meet the physical and spiritual needs of the residents by educating and equipping them through the gospel of jesus christ so they re-enter society as contributing citizens.
See description on schedule ocommunity distribution program:the Bay Area Rescue Mission distributes food, clothing, furniture and miscellaneous items to all who have need in our shelters and in the community. Distributions go to other non-profit organizations,families, individuals and residents. Over 1,600,000 meals were distributed during the year.community programs:the organization conducts several special programs in august/september (back to school), november (thanksgiving outreach) and december (christmas outreach) to provide for needy families in the community, especially children. Without these programs many would go without school supplies, a thanksgiving dinner and gifts at christmas. The organization also educates the larger community about homelessness and encourages them to partner with the organization to help reduce the number of those who are unable to get assistance.
