Program areas at Beloit Historical Society

Our major program of service is public education. This is mainly accomplished through exhibits at the lincoln center where we have a rotating series of small exhibits during the year. We also have annual programs that feature Historical topics that are available to the Society membership and general public. In addition, housed in the lincoln center is the sports hall of fame and the Beloit Historical Society hall of fame which recognize significant contributions from individuals to the city of Beloit. A second major program is the care and housing of our collections at our headquarters building lincoln center. These collections of objects, books, papers, etc. Form the foundation of all other services and programming we provide. We handle hundreds of research requests for genealogical and Historical information. Our photographic collections are used widely by local businesses and the general public. A third major program service is the maintenance and care of the hanchett-bartlett homestead which is listed on the national register of Historical places.
