Program areas at Blue Sky Bridge
Intervention Program: Blue Sky Bridge embraces the fundamental elements required for a successful children's Advocacy center. Four core disciplines (law enforcement, social services, prosecutors and victim advocates) work together within a coordinated team to lead Child abuse investigations. These multidisciplinary teams are committed to providing victims and non-offending Family members with coordinated services in a child-friendly facility to minimize the trauma associated with the investigation of Child abuse. Activities associated with the intervention Program include: forensic interviews of children who are possible victims of Child abuse or witnesses to crime, crisis intervention, support, referrals and regular case updates for Child victims and their nonoffending Family members, and training for adults working with youth. By providing a centrally-located, child-focused facility and a coordinated response by all investigative agencies, Blue Sky Bridge is proactive in its approach to helping families during Child abuse investigations. We provide immediate intervention, forensic interviews, crisis intervention counseling, Family support and follow-up services to Child victims and non-offending Family members.
Prevention education Program: Blue Sky Bridge believes that education is a tool for preventing Child abuse. They are committed to helping children learn how to keep their bodies safe and helping adults learn how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to Child sexual abuse. They accomplish this through their school based education Program, training for adults, and project pinwheel.
Therapy Program: Blue Sky Bridge provides trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (tf-cbt) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (emdr) for children ages 4 to 17 who have experienced a traumatic event. Treatment is designed to reduce negative emotional and behavioral responses and post traumatic stress symptoms after a traumatic incident.
