Paak house in the park is an event designed to bring awareness to vulnerable teen populations of the community available resources should they find themselves homeless. The 2021 event was held on december 22, 2021 at oxnard college park and had a total of over 400 working poor families given a free vip experience. The majority of the expenses for this event were not paid until the 2022 calendar year due to the year-end timing of the event. The paak house in the park event that typically would have been held in december 2022 had to be rescheduled for may 2023, although much of the planning took place in 2022. Please note that on prior year Foundation returns, the expenses associated with the paak house in the park event should have been treated as program expenses rather than fundraising expenses. The 2022 Foundation return properly reports these expenses as program expenses and also corrects their reporting for this and prior year gross receipts on schedule a, part iii, line 2 where it should have been reported in the prior filing years as revenue from activity related to the organization's exempt purpose.
Supporting charitable organizations - the Foundation makes donations to charitable organizations that serve underserved communities and align with the Foundation's mission. In 2022, it obtained a $45,000.00 non-cash donation from vf services of 693 brand new pairs of van's shoes which it was able to donate to three charitable organizations that serve the Foundation's constituent communities by providing shoes to underprivileged youth. In addition, the Foundation made a donation of $5,000 in cash to a toy drive for the 2022 holiday season to provide toys for families in need as well as $7,500 for a thanksgiving turkey giveaway. The Foundation expects this giving program to grow in 2023 and beyond.
