Program areas at Bric Arts Media Bklyn
Bric is the new york emmy award-winning public access television organization for brooklyn, new york. We offer low-cost Media production classes and free access to television production facilities. We air community-produced free speech content on our cable network, and in-house content focused on brooklyn. In fy22, 696 certified community producers worked with brooklyn free speech tv. Bric Media education offered 340 courses and orientations physically and virtually to 5162 students from around the globe. All classes are free or low-cost. Classes included students from 26 states and 14 countries.
Bric contemporary art and Media programs include exhibitions, public events and an innovative education program at our 3,000 square foot gallery at Bric house and around the borough. Our aim is to increase the visibility throughout Bric house and accessibility of contemporary art and Media while bridging the gap between the art world and global culture in brooklyn. In addition, our art education programs bring these experiences to students throughout new york. About 3,200 students participated in our school-based art education program and activities in 56 schools and community centers and Bric house delivery of digital education content.
Bric performing Arts programs include presentation of music, dance, theater, film and spoken word, and support for the development of new work. In fy22, our flagship Bric celebrate brooklyn! Festival returned from the covid-19 pandemic on a smaller scale, with 13 free shows and six benefit shows, attracting 79,022 attendees. Bric jazzfest also returned to Bric house, bringing over 1500 attendees across three nights of performances.
