Program areas at Bridging Hunger

Bridging Hunger received over 2 million pounds of donated food and products which were distributed to support children families and widows and others in need. Volunteers dedicated over 5,000 hours of their time to fill over 80,000 grocery bags filled with essential items for meals for families. These groceries were distributed through various outreach efforts in OK and TX. Other initiatives include a children's feeding program and a kids' backpack outreach program during the school year which provides food to hundreds of children bags filled with needed toiletries snacks and warm socks for the homeless and hot meal deliveries through the Mobile Food Truck Program. Additionally Bridging Hunger offers disaster relief services to those affected by natural disasters in Oklahoma.
Bridging Hunger received a grant from the Board of County Commissioners of Tulsa County Oklahoma for the purchase of equipment and materials to expand the Mobile Hot Food Program in helping reduce household food insecurity for those residents in urban and rural Tulsa County. The Mobile Food Truck Program was specifically designed to reach children and families who live in poverty-stricken areas of Tulsa County. The total number of attendees to date for all of the outreaches combined was estimated to be over 1,500 individuals. The program will continue through 2023.
