Program areas at CBR
California Business climate: advocated in The California legislature and with key opinion leaders The importances of a strong and resilient California economy. Took positions on legislation, spoke to The media, issued press releases, and informed our members of policies and political actions that would affect businesses' ability to grow and hire in California.
Economic recovery: supported efforts at The federal level to provide liability relief and appropriate economic recovery funding for businesses, particularly in housing and to those workers impacted by covid.
Cost of living and affordability: served as a counterbalance to efforts within The legislature that increase costs on working californians. From housing to healthcare numerous proposals would have placed even higher cost burdens on working californians. Highlighted The importance of predictable tax policy.
Energy affordability: continued to be a voice for affordability and reliability with respect to California energy policies through care coalition leadership.
International trade and goods movement: supported efforts at The federal level to increase free and fair international trade. Advocated for a resilient goods movement sector, including hosting national meetings regarding The state's ports and their importance both nationally and internationally. Also worked on trade issues at state level including impact of major climate change regulation.
