Workforce development american job centers (ajc) as the ajc one stop operator, Career Resources Inc. (cri) manages the coordinated delivery of services for universal access through ajc one stop centers in southwestern and northwestern Connecticut. In partnership with the ct department of labor, Career Resources provides comprehensive employment and training services, resulting in increased earnings for the job seeker and a competitive, trained workforce for the business community. Job seekers have access to a single point of entry to a network of workforce development services including, but not limited to, classroom training, education and vocational programs, program partner services, comprehensive case management and Career counseling, and integrated programs such as the workforce innovation and opportunity act (wioa) individual training accounts for in-demand occupational skills training.jobs first employment program (jfes)the jfes program provides employment assessment and services, assistance in developing an individualized employment plan, job search assistance, vocational education, subsidized employment, adult basic education and/or employment related support services such as transportation and child care assistance to recipients of temporary family assistanc (tfa). Cri operates jfes programs in bridgeport and waterbury.
Reentry and community release operates three homes with a forty-five bed capacity (male). The organization also operates one home with a fifteen bed capacity (female). The organization provides treatment and rehabilitation services for the male and female residents of the program and works with local human services organizations and religious groups in providing the best available support and services to the residents.reentry employment opportunitiesfederal grant passed through the workplace, Inc. to provide prerelease case managemnt services to participants enrolled in linking to employment activities prerelease(leap) program.
Strive is a threeweek, fultime work readiness training program featuring a series of highly effective and engaging attitudinal workshops in a simulated work environment. Training focuses on developing positive attitudes and work habits for successful longterm employment. Career Resources assumed the operations of strive new haven in april of 2012, and now operates all four strive sites in bridgeport, hartford, waterbury and new haven Connecticut.
Adult and youth programsged/eslour yearround, inhouse program provides a convenient way for our customers to receive classroom and computerbased training to pass the ged test and earn their high school diploma, opening doors to a whole new range of training and employment opportunities or enhance their english coversational skills.youth Career advancement (yca)youth Career advancement (yca) is a free, 5 week professional development program operated in partnership with youthworks. This program focuses on enhancing Career and college readiness in the 16-24 year-olds in the greater bridgeport area. Secure jobssecure jobs ct is a two-year demonstration pilot designed to increase the income of families transitioning from homelessness to housing by connecting them to the education, training and supports they need to secure and maintain stable, competitive employment. This will be accomplished by better integrating and coordinating the efforts of the homeless services, workforce and child care sectors to effectively serve families participating in the department of housing's (doh's) Connecticut's rapid rehousing program (ctrrp).foster grandparents funded by the corporation for national and community service, the foster grandparent program brings low-income senior citizens into 10 public schools in bridgeport, stratford, and fairfield to mentor children facing challenges in schools. Ipad academy-funded by the workplace, this program serves wioa-eligible out-of-school between the ages of 16 and 24. Participants use ipads to receive job-readiness training, conduct Career path research, and develop leadership skills. Participants receive customer service credentials and individualized tutoring in math and reading.
