RITA ALLEN FOUNDATION -Establish a CienciaCoLab as a flagship initiative of Ciencia PR to strengthen the capacity and agency of community leaders to engage with science and the role of science in addressing local needs and challenges in Puerto Rico.
MEDTRONIC FOUNDATION(1) Inspire 120 7-9th grade girls per year throughout Puerto Rico to envision STEM careers through culturally relevant Latina STEM mentors and role models. (2) Provide engaging STEM experiences and skills development workshops. (3) Empower girls with leadership skills through community-focused outreach impacting many more youth.
SIMONS FOUNDATION Launch a cohort of 10 community leaders with the ability and agency to design and execute place-based community science projects § Three community science projects, that address the needs of marginalized/vulnerable communities in Puerto Rico, produced § Develop a framework for the establishment of the CienciaCoLab program
