Lunch Buddies: The lunch buddy program is for students in grades k-3. An adult volunteer commits to having lunch with a student one day per week in a school of their choice. The program is in all 13 elementary schools in Wilkes County and in Stony Point and Hiddenite in Alexander County.Friends of Youth Mentoring Programs: The friends of youth program is for students in grades 4-8. An adult volunteer commits to spending 2-4 hours each week with their match during out of school hours. Not school specific but county wide in Wilkes County. New Century Scholars Program: Scholars are required to give ten hours if community service. The program serves scholars in all four middle and five high schools in Wilkes County.
