Program areas at Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania

Community building - cvpa works to strengthen the environmental community across Pennsylvania by promoting our events and the events of other organizations, recruiting and developing volunteers, and coaching allied organizations on best practices for advocacy and communications.
Education - environmental issues are often politically and scientifically complex. We work to increase public awareness and understanding of these issues as well as to educate candidates for office and elected officials about the environmental threats and challenges facing our state. This education often takes the form of email and social media communications, but may also involve paid advertisements, mail programs or phone outreach.
Advocacy - cvpa advocates for laws that will protect the natural resources of the commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We work directly with state lawmakers to influence legislation and we activate our members to put grassroots pressure on legislators to support good laws. As part of our advocacy program, we produce a biannual Pennsylvania environmental scorecard which tracks the environmental voting records of our state legislators.
