The College's academic related expenditures include instruction (undergraduate liberal arts), academic support, financial aid, and research. These expenses supported 1,490 student fte and 173.7 faculty fte. The College conferred 304 degrees in 21/22. Research stipends totaling $705,838 were awarded to 286 students. While these offices support student health, development, and well-being in different ways, they all share an approach that is based on respect for student choices and a fundamental commitment to the importance of education in the decision-making process. The staff of these offices are committed to helping students achieve their potential both as individuals and as members of the community. The recent 6-year graduation rates for the College have been 90% or higher. Based on the entire class of 2021, 22% proceeded directly to graduate/professional school and 57% were employed, undertaking volunteer work or awarded a fellowship within six months of graduation. 21% were seeking employment or unknown at that point. In addition, Haverford College graduates earned a total of 426 doctorates for the 10 year period (2008-2017), which equates to a 14.4% rate of doctoral production. This rate places Haverford College 6th among all liberal arts colleges and 8th overall for this time period.
Auxiliary enterprises (dorms, dining center, faculty housing, and conference programs). Haverford is a residential institution where most of the student body live on campus and actively participate in campus life. The dorms housed an average of 1,292 students and an average of 890 students were on a meal plan. Haverford provided 61 spaces for rent to the faculty to foster educational interaction with students.
