The Hospital is committed to providing safe, convenient care to meet The personal healthcare needs of The communities we serve. The Danbury Hospital is part of nuvance health, which is a six-hospital system, on 7 campuses, with numerous outpatient facilities throughout The hudson valley and across western Connecticut. The nuvance health system gives The community access to a variety of services including, but not limited to, bariatric surgery and medical weight loss, blood draw, critical care, diabetes education, emergency services, heart and vascular, imaging and radiology, infusion therapy, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedic care, physical rehabilitation, primary care, rheumatology, sleep disorders, urgent care, women's health, behavioral health, cancer care, dentistry, digestive health, endocrinology, genetic counseling, home health care, infectious disease, kidney disease and nephrology, occupational medicine, patient blood managements and bloodless medicine, pediatrics, podiatry, pulmonary care, senior care and geriatric medicine, surgical services, urology, wound care and hyperbaric medicine. The Danbury Hospital features advanced technologies, making us a destination for innovative services. The Hospital offers both minimally invasive and robot-assisted surgery and is designated by The surgical review corporation as a robotic center of excellence. The Danbury Hospital has earned The joint commission's gold seal of approval as a primary stroke center and offers highly advanced cardiac and vascular care. Other features include a state-of-the-art level iii nicu and compassionate psychiatric care, including a partial-hospitalization program. The Danbury Hospital is committed to providing quality service to The community and has been recognized by several organizations for The quality healthcare that it provides to The region. The Danbury Hospital is joint commission accredited with a gold seal of distinction. The Hospital has received advanced certification and a gold seal of distinction for excellence in palliative care, spine, total hip and knee replacement, as well as a thrombectomy capable stroke center. It has received a center for radiation oncology accreditation, a nuclear medicine center accreditation and breast imaging center of excellence from The american college of radiology. The college of surgeons has awarded The Danbury Hospital with The robotic center of excellence, which was The first in The state of Connecticut. It has designated and verified The Hospital as a level ii trauma center and accredited us with praxair cancer center commission on cancer. The Hospital has been listed on The get with The guidelines heart failure gold plus with type 2 diabetes honor roll, get with The guidelines mission lifeline stemi receiving center gold plus, and The get with The guidelines stroke gold plus with target stroke honor roll elite with target type 2 diabetes honor roll by The american heart association. Us news & world report has awarded The Danbury Hospital as high performance in heart failure treatment, copd treatment and stroke treatment. Other accreditations and awards include breast health program accreditation from The national accreditation program for breast cents, three-star rating for lung cancer resection outcomes from The society of thoracic surgeons, chest pain center with primary pci accreditation from The american college of cardiology, and The circle of life award celebrating innovation in palliative and end-of-life care from The american Hospital association. In fy22, The Danbury Hospital had 91,022 patient days and 20,096 discharges in acute care. There were 67,100 in emergency room visits and 468,743 in other outpatient visits/procedures. The Hospital provided approximately $27.8m in charity care to The regions un-insured and under-insured population.
