The Door County Summer Horizons Foundation operates a youth summer employment program for teens from disadvantaged neighborhoods in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The foundation provides transportation, housing, meals, and support to overcome structural impediments to working in Door County. In 2022, the program was successful as the boys flourished in their first jobs due to strong mentorship from their employers and DCSH supervisors. Along with great summer work experience, the boys also enjoyed swimming lessons at the YMCA and golf lessons.
