Program areas at Downtown State College Improvement District
To promote, preserve and extend the safety, image and economic development of Downtown State College, pa through various marketing activities. These include gift card sales, and the distribution of maps and guides. The District sponsored various events, and extensive regional marketing and advertising campaigns with billboards and newsprint were conducted. Holiday lights, ornaments and skylines were used to decorate the streetscape.
The District works to promote retail, restaurant, rental and other business activity Downtown. Also, it administers a State program to assist property owners with the cost of new signs and/or facades.
The cleaning ambassadors provide daily cleaning efforts and the removal of graffiti in high traffic, high visibility areas, for the convenience and comfort of shoppers and visitors.
