Franciscan Ministries was incorporated in 1983 as the holding company for wheaton Franciscan services, inc.'s shelter services. Franciscan Ministries focuses on communities where housing is needed most, with 2,620 units for low-income families, seniors, and special needs residents throughout Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin. After a period of discernment, the decision was made that the housing units would be best served under new sponsorship. Beginning in february 2016 through june 2018, transfers to a new sponsor become effective upon final negotiation of definitive agreements and all required approvals.
