The international visitor leadership program (ivlp) is the u.s.Us.s.' foundational professional exchange program implemented by gtus' member organizations. It is designed to build trust and collab oration between u.sUs.s. and international counterparts and support u.sUs.s. foreign policy goals. Through a 60-year partnership with the u.Us.s department of state, gtus supports a network of u.s.-based exchange organizations that design and implement short-term, professional exchange programs that connect u.sUs.s. citizens and the world's emerging leaders. Ivlp exchanges enable participants to experience the u.sUs.s. firsthand, connect with u.sUs.s. Counterparts, and share their respective cultures with american communities. Since inception the ivlp has introduced more than 225,000 Global participants and thousands of leaders in their respective fields to counterparts in communities in all 50 states. Each of these visits was supported by the members and the ivlp alumni have built or grown their careers through connections and ideas gained on the ivlp.
U.sUs.s. exchange alumni network and capacity building program: the u.sUs.s. exchange alumni network and capacity building program is designed to support enterprising u.sUs.s. Alumni as they build on their exchange experiences through professional development and citizen diplomacy opportunities. Key to this effort is the Global Ties network and our longstanding partnership with the u.sUs.s. department of state. As local hubs for Global engagement, Global Ties network members are the domestic infrastructure for u.sUs.s. public diplomacy efforts and helped Us to identify and connect diverse and geographically dispersed exchange alumni. We worked with them to connect with diverse alumni from across the united states. Through our activities, we built on the Global skills of u.sUs.s. citizen exchange alumni, elevated them as leaders in their communities, and advanced u.sUs.s. foreign policy goals through citizen diplomacy.
U.sUs.s. pavilion at expo dubai 2020: in partnership with the department of state, we recruited youth ambassadors and cultural performers to represent the u.sUs.s. as citizen ambassadors at the u.sUs.s. pavilion. We also supported research on the impact of historical expos within the u.sUs.s.
