Real estate development: Homes of Hope develops affordable and energy efficient Homes that are indistinguishable from market rate Homes. Housing development efforts are focused on creating healthy mixed income communities throughout south carolina. In 25 years, Homes of Hope has developed 700 Homes.
Men's workforce development: the men's workforce development program is a one-year residential workforce development opportunity focused in the field of construction. This program provides a necessary next step for men to begin a life of stability free from drugs and alcohol. A graduate of this program completes 1200 hours of on the job training, 360 hours of discipleship and 200 hours of classroom training and an average starting wage of 18/hour. On the job training results in the production of 3 Homes for poverty income households. In 25 years, 326 men have graduated this program.
Housing and property management: Homes of Hope owns and oversees the management of 432 affordable rental Homes throughout south carolina. These rental Homes serve low-to-moderate income households. By providing excellent customer care and connecting households to community resource opportunities, housing stability is established, barriers of distrust are broken, and opportunities for economic mobility pathways are created leading to long-term generational change. This year, 44% of people in Homes of Hope rental Homes are under the age 18.
