Program areas at Impact on Education

Programs to improve student outcomes (academic opportunity fund, kinder bridge, career readiness academy, scholarships): our work supported bvsd students of all ages and stages of learning in the 22-23 fiscal year and involved facilitating in-kind donations from community partners to provide access to equitable and excellent Education. In summer 2022, 146 incoming kindergarten students accessed 6 weeks of summer instruction to ensure they began school as prepared as their peers. In addition to awarding $25,500 in college scholarships, our career readiness academy expanded to 3 sites allowing 60 high school students to access professional skills and career guidance from local professionals. We also invested over $215,000 through academic opportunity fund grants, allowing educators to access resources such as tutoring, adaptive pe equipment and steam innovations like 3d printers, to support student learning.
Critical needs (marshall fire): in december 2021, the marshall fire destroyed over 1,000 homes, disrupting the lives of hundreds of families across bvsd. This year we continued our crisis response by providing more than 6,000 students access to in-school mental health support. We also continued to support 300 displaced families with transportation stipends, after-school care, and school lunch.
Crayons to calculators: the crayons to calculators program provides new backpacks and supplies to nearly 8,000 students in need in the boulder valley and st. vrain valley school districts at the start of the school year. Ensuring every student has access to school supplies helps create equitable classrooms across all grade levels.
