Description
Interschool Orchestras of New York creates opportunities for school-aged children in New York city to make music together through a family of ensembles. Iso provides a nurturing environment where all children can realize their personal best, achieve high artistic standards and share their music with the community. Generous financial aid and scholarships insure that every child can participate. The organization provides a comprehensive youth orchestra program for nyc school children.

Program areas at Interschool Orchestras of New York

Iso's seven Orchestras, a band and a flute ensemble provide opportunities for children ages 6 to 19 to make music together. The ensembles perform in major concert halls and in community centers and sometimes tour to other cities and countries. It also provides free music lessons through a partnership with ella baker school and subsidizes music lessons for players of the less common instruments and for students of african american or latino heritage.
