The Iroquois Indian Museum is an educational institution dedicated to fostering understanding of Iroquois culture using Iroquois art as a window to that culture. The Museum is a venue for promoting Iroquois art and artists, and a meeting place for all peoples to celebrate Iroquois culture and diversity. As an anthropological institution, it is informed by research on archaeology, history, and the common creative spirit of modern artists and craftspeople.

Program areas at Iroquois Indian Museum

The museum is composed of the following - museum building, storage barn, nature park and outdoor amphitheater. The goal of the museum is to have the best collection of modern Iroquois creativitY: fine arts, traditional and modern crafts, photography and multi-media. The nature park is composed of 45 acres and is used to introduce visitors to the Iroquois view of nature - our mother the earth, our elder brother the sun and grandfathers the thunderers, and our three sisters, the earth as turtle island and the nine clan animals. The amphitheater is used for Iroquois social dancing, story telling, talks and various performing arts.
Craft demonstrations, performers, festivals, and educational programs of the Iroquois Indian for the general public.
Educational programs- The Iroquois Indian museum is an anthropological museum that uses art to educate and inspire. Its educational programs fulfill the New York State learning standards for the arts, social studies, and language arts. The museum provides a stimulating object-based learning environment that engages visitors on visual, tactile, and intellectual levels.
