Sprint program: the sprint program is made up of four levels of paddling. The young athletes start in developmental and proceed through intermediate training to high performance. The fourth level is for masters paddlers. All athletes are eligible to compete in local and national competitions. High performance athletes also compete in international events with competing at the olympics as a goal.
Dragon boat program: the dragon boat program started to grow in 2017 due to the icf dragon boat world championships held in september of 2018 in gainesville, ga. The boats are used in all the other programs of the clubsprint, beginner racing league, training camps, team building courses and recreation programs throughout the year. The lckc is the local organizer for the annual atlanta dragon boat festival held each september.
Youth programs: the Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club is committed to providing quality introductory paddlesports programs to the community incorporating water safety, fun, fitness and friendships. Each year, children ages 7-14 are introduced to the sport through our summer day camp. The beginner racing league program runs in the fall and spring for six weeks each session and is an introductory program for the sprint team. Participants join teams of up to 25 athletes and practice twice weekly and race in two races/regattas during the program.
The Club offers opportunities to its members and the community to try paddlesport through programs, lessons and events. Programs include -adult learn to Kayak, moonlight paddles and summer rentals (recreational boats).
