Program areas at Midland Festival Ballet

The nutcracker, a holiday classic, continues to delight audiences as a permian basin favorite that features the talents of our civic company who are joined by Midland Festival Ballet's school students, and other local dancers at the wagner-noel performing arts center. Mfb's production features over 120 dancers and volunteer performers and requires between 50-75 volunteers for production support. We partner with west test Texas symphony who thrills audiences with tchaikovsky's iconic score. Joining our cast are professional guest artists from organizations such as houston Ballet, Colorado Ballet, milwaukee Ballet, and dance theatre of harlem. Mfb's pre-professional company presented a mixed repertoire production, aladdin and the magic carpet at the wagner noel performing arts center in april 2022. Mfb's company was joined by professional guest artists from Ballet san antonio, and freelance artists. Mfb collaborated with the west Texas symphony for live accompaniment for this full-length production. Mfb was unable to have their usual outreach performance for elementary school students.
The school of Midland Festival Ballet has a professional, talented faculty that exhibits the highest caliber of teaching. The school of mfb has grown to approximately 180 students from ages 3 through adult who are immersed in the craft of Ballet in an educational and personally enriching environment. The school is structured with the belief that a love for the art of Ballet and the discipline that goes along with it teach the skills for success in any field students want to pursue. Classes occur from august through may and the year culminates in a spring showcase which was held at the wagner noel pac in may 2022.
