Program areas at Monarch Lifeworks
Group Homes: Lifeworks' Supported Living Services offer residents comfortable, secure home settings and essential clinical services that promote independence, self direction, community-inclusion, safety, ongoing skill development, interpersonal connectivity, and an overall high-quality of life. The homes are embedded in the Cleveland suburbs of Shaker Heights and University Heights and are close to cultural and recreational destinations in Cleveland.
Community Services: Lifework's Behavioral Health division provides an array of services to support adults and transition-aged youth with ASD and co-occurring mental health conditions. Treatment services focus on resolving mental health symptoms, as well as improving emotional and behavioral management, social competency community involvement, and overall daily functioning. At intake, each service recipient receives a full psychiatric diagnostic evaluation and, if warranted, an individualized treatment plan. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services can also be provided. ABA is the study of understanding behaviors and is widely recognized as an effective therapy for individuals of all ages on the autism spectrum. Through ABA therapy, individuals can experience meaningful improvements in socially significant areas of their lives, such as communication, daily living skills, social skills, leisure skills, vocational skills, community involvement, and academics.
Prevocational Services and Life Skills: Lifeworks' Prevocational and Life Skills are geared toward individuals with significant symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder who have completed their schooling but are not currently candidates for competitive work or postsecondary education. Most often funded as "Adult Day SupportX or "Vocational Habilitation" by way of Ohio Medicaid Waivers, Lifeworks Prevocational and Life Skills programs offer structured settings in which service recipients can hone and develop social skills, communicatin skills, prevocational skills, functional skills of daily living, and recreation and leisure skills. As a part of standard programming, participants are afforded regular opportunities to travel into the community in service of generalizing skills, participating in volunteer and simulated work experiences, and leading integrated and fulfilled lives.
