Program areas at NCAC
SOUTHERN REGIONAL CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY CENTER - In 2022, SRCAC provided training and resources to 3,899 child abuse professionals, State Chapter organizations, and multidisciplinary team members predominatly based in the 16-state Southeast region of the US, including the District of Columbia, through cutomized and core trainings, conference presentations, the Chapter subgrant program, core trainings, online learning, webinars, and podcasts. Also SRCAC provided individual instances of technical assistance to 2,826 professionals.
The 38th International Symposium on Child Abuse (Symposium) was a virtual conference hosted at NCAC March 21-24, 2022. The successful, informative, and innovative multidisciplinary conference featured more than 63 workshops, over 90 presenters, and trained 1,213 professionals from 47 states, D.C., Puerto Rico, and 10 countries. The Symposium has hosted and trained professionals in the field of child abuse, maltreatment, and prevention for over 35 years and continues to be one of the leading child abuse conferences worldwide.
OJJDP-TRAINING GRANT - In 2022, the Training/Technical Assistance Program for Child Abuse Professionals, funded by a grant awarded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (US Department of Justice), provided technical assistance to 875 professionals and created and published 23 resources. Live virtual trainings were provided to 1,056 people and archived virtual trainings were completed by 21,802 people from the United States and throughout the world. The Child Abuse Library Online had 33,553 unique visits and a total of 53,961 from people from the United States and throughout the world.
