Program areas at National Organization for Women

Education and awareness - promoting the understanding and consciousness of society regarding Women's issues and equal rights and opportunities for all.
Districts, states & chapters - money utilized by local units for local projects to promote Women's rights.
General issues - conferences, litigation, advocacy, leadership training and other programs to advance Women's rights.
Conference program - now hosts an annual conference each year for its members. The conference is a combination of plenary sessions, now business, workshops, special constituency caucuses and district caucuses. The conference is the supreme governing body of the Organization and at each conference the body considers resolutions and any proposed bylaws amendments. In 2022 the conference was held virtually. There was not a quorum to consider bylaws or resolutions. Every four years the conference votes on officers (president and vice president) and every two years the districts vote on National board members.
Political development - now has a self-segregated pac called the National Organization for Women pac (now pac). The now pac endorses federal candidates who meet our endorsement criteria based on now's 6 core issues. The pac also makes contributions to some endorsed candidates, releases press statements for some endorsed candidates and posts about endorsements on now pac social media and on the now pac web page. The political director works with state and local chapters to get them engaged in campaigns in endorsed candidate races. Because it is a self-segregated pac it can only solicit and accept money from active now members.
Communications program - now contracts with scott circle communications to provide a wide range of communications services. These include communications to our members such as a weekly newsletter, actional alerts and issue statements. They also create press releases and work to get now and president christian nunes in the media. They, along with our contract script writer, provide remarks and speeches for christian nunes and bear atwood. The communications team also drafts scripts and questions for webinar panels and conference panels.
