Description
Northboro Youth Hockey Program was incorporated in 1970 as a non profit charitable organization. In September of 1976 the Northboro Youth Hockey program purchased the Westboro Ice Arena and changed the name to NorthStar Youth Forum. Today, the three-rink complex is known as Northstar Ice Sports and provides the community with hockey and figure skating programs. The NorthStar Ice Sports is a member of the Northeast Ice Skating Managers Association (NEISMA), the Ice Skating Institute (ISI) and the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA).

Program areas at Northboro Youth Hockey Program

Northstar ice sports - a triple ice surface skating facility dedicated to providing the Youth and adults of the local communities with a safe, clean, modern facility for public skating, figure skating, Youth Hockey, high school and senior skaters. The organization strives to provide use of the facilities at the lowest possible cost.
Jim flanagan fund is a scholarship Program for secondary education awarded annually to high school seniors from Northboro, ma. The scholarships are awarded by a committee independent of the governing board and coordinated through local high schools.review and selection process - the committee evaluates and discusses each application. Jim flanagan's philosophy is followed by not always giving to the superstars, but to hard working, deserving students. A list of finalists is prepared. The head of the guidance department at algonquin regional high school is consulted regarding the character and the number of other scholarships that will be given to a student. We prefer not to give to someone who will receive several other awards.
