Program areas at Nurturing Nations
Provided support for over 230 children in the sponsorship program in Ghana. These funds are used to stabilize and provide support for families so children can attend school and get an education. This is our best tool for decreasing the risk of trafficking of vulnerable children. We made two trips to Ghana in 2022. We conducted a total of five medical day-clinics that included over 1000 people served in total. Many people were helped and several lives were saved. We continued to care for hundreds of children at the Kofi Kwei campus. During 2022 we served over 77,000 meals for the children. Over 200 children attended the school, the Childrens Home had about 20 children who stayed there, and the special care house had about 10 children. All of these children were educated and cared for during 2022.Finished construction on the kitchen facility at Kofi Kwei and purchased some additional land on the Kofi Kwei campusContinued construction on the health clinic building at Assin Adadientum.Finished construction on fish-rearing tanks at Kofi Kwei and started our first experiments for fish production.Started construction at Kofi Kwei on a summer hut for the children in the special care house. This is a covered pavilion that allows the children to have shade while being outside in the open air.Added to and reinforced the drainage system on the campus at Kofi Kwei and added a large amount of additional fill to level the ground for a playground. The playground was installed in late 2022.
