Program areas at Open Door Service Center
Our food pantry serves over 3,000 families a month with free supplemental groceries. We have many different programs of food we hand out free to the community; a senior box, veterans box, tefap, and feeding america. Other programs we have are a birthday bag program for kids, a "go with the flow" program for teens and women who can't afford feminine products so they don't miss school or college. Partners with purpose bags which we give to the local pd, sheriff, and fire department filled with nonperishable food items, hygiene, and a voucher to the thrift shop.
Our soup kitchen feeds over 120 families daily with a free, hot, nutritious meal. We pride ourselves on the dignity we give to our patrons coming to our kitchen to eat. We servce a lunch meal 7 days a week.
Through the thrift store we operate, we gave needy families access to clothing and household goods donated by the community at minimal cost. Volunteer staffers contributed several thousand hours to the thrift store. Sales from the thrift store help to fund client services.
